About Finelly
Finelly is a web app for groups of friends that turns punctuality into a game: you set a time, a place and a price per minute of delay, and whoever turns up latest pays a fine the group agreed on.
Why it exists
Every group has the same conversation. You say nine o'clock, at quarter past nobody has arrived, and at half past the usual suspect shows up apologising. Whoever got there on time has been standing around for thirty minutes and says nothing, because saying something makes you the difficult one.
Finelly came out of that scene. The idea was to take the drama out of it by adding rules: if lateness has a price agreed in advance, it stops being a reproach and becomes part of the game. Nobody resents a fine they signed up for, the same way nobody resents losing a card game.
What the app adds is the thing a group's memory cannot: an objective arrival time, measured by the phone, and a tally nobody has to keep in their head.
What it is not
Finelly does not move money, does not collect the fines and takes no cut of them. It works out who owes what and puts it in writing on the event receipt; the rest happens between you, as always. It is not a gambling app either: there is no chance and no prize. We go into it in the house rules.
How the project pays for itself
Two things, and we would rather say so openly:
- Advertising for anyone on the free version, which is complete and has no features held back.
- An optional unlock, paid once: $2.99 at launch, $4.99 afterwards, that removes the ads for good.
We do not sell user data and have no intention of doing so. What we collect and why is in the privacy policy, written to be read rather than signed blind.
Who is behind it
Finelly is built by Eduviku SL, based in Barcelona. The full identifying details — company name, tax ID and registered address — are in the legal notice, as Spanish law requires.
It is a small project. There is no twenty-person support team: emails are answered by the person who makes the app, usually the same day.
Contact
- Email hola@finelly.app about anything: questions, bugs, ideas or complaints.
- Support has the contact routes and the common requests.
- To delete your account and your data, use delete account — no need to email anyone.
If you use Finelly and something grates, tell us. Half of what is in the app came from messages sent by people using it.
