Pricing
Finelly is free and will stay that way. No features held back for paying users, no cap on events or participants, no trial that runs out.
There is one optional purchase: $2.99 to remove the ads, once and for good.
That is the launch price. When the launch period ends the unlock will cost $4.99. Anyone who buys now pays no difference later: it is a one-off payment and it is not revisited.
What the free plan includes
Everything Finelly does:
- Unlimited events and participants
- GPS check-in
- Event receipt with the full breakdown of delays and fines
- Punctuality streak, achievements and history
- Friends list
The trade-off is that ads are shown inside the app. That is what pays for the server and the development.
What the unlock includes
Exactly the same, with no ads anywhere.
It adds no features. It is not a "pro" plan and it does not unlock anything that was hidden. All you are buying is not seeing adverts, plus the good feeling of supporting the project.
It is not a subscription
This is the question we get most, so here it is in bold: it is a one-off payment. You pay once and that is it.
- It does not renew monthly or yearly.
- There is nothing to cancel.
- It does not expire and you never have to buy it again.
- Stop using Finelly for a year, come back, and it is still ad-free.
Technically it is what app stores call a non-consumable product: a purchase made once that stays tied to your account.
How you pay, depending on where you are
The unlock is tied to your Finelly account, so buying it once is enough and it applies wherever you sign in:
- On the web, which is how Finelly works today, payment is processed by Stripe. Finelly never sees or stores your card details.
- In the App Store and Google Play apps, already available, payment is processed by them through their own in-app purchase systems, as their rules require. Anyone who already bought the unlock on the web will not have to pay again.
Refunds
These depend on where the purchase was made: web purchases are handled by us, and mobile purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, because they are the ones taking the payment. The specific terms are in the terms and conditions.
If something did not work the way you expected, email hola@finelly.app before arguing with anyone. It usually gets sorted over email.
Why there are ads
We would rather be upfront about this. Finelly has to cover servers, a domain and maintenance. The two honest ways to do that were charging for the app from day one, or keeping it free with advertising and offering a cheap way out to anyone who does not want it. We picked the second, because an app you use as a group only works if the whole group can join without paying.
Ads on the web are served by Google AdSense. You can see what data that involves in the cookie policy and the privacy policy, and change your preferences any time from the link in the footer.
